a little work and lots of play

You all are going to think all I do is play. In fact, I guess I play more than I think I do, less than I want to. That was a couple of confusing sentences.

The summary is, I was out of the sewing room on a family trip to Capon Springs, West Virginia, USA. My parents and my sisters and their kids and now the kid's kids have been going to this get away in the mountains for over 40 years! It has healing water from a deep spring, supposedly. I tend to get fat when I visit. It's probably the food, not the water. haha

Here is a photo of some of my kids and some cousins at the pool:

I did manage to squeeze in a bit of sewing on the return. I finished the heart throb quilt and pillow for the lovely lady. Here it is:

Now I plan on being virtuous all of next week, losing the 5 pounds I gained on vacation, a bit of exercise and lots of sewing. I'm starting a butterfly quilt because I have so much really cool fabric I want to mix together and see how it turns out.

  1. G'day Jamie. Glad to hear that you have had a fantastic time. The photos look great. No sunshine here, we are in our winter and it's been wet and cold to say the least, especially the cold bit.The heart quilt is beautiful Jamie. I love the colours you have used. Well done. Oh and by the way, yes, the painting is all finished, though we may have to do a few ceilings at some stage. Take care. Liz...
